Ofer Berkovich is the chairman of the Hitorerut Movement in Jerusalem. He leads a working team that examines the relationship between central and local government and proposes practical tools for decentralization and improvement of services to residents and streamlining work processes. Ofer stands at the head of the largest municipal social-political movement in the country, with over 14 years of experience in leading political and social processes in local government and civil society vis-à-vis the government. Formerly, he served as Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem, responsible for economic development, culture, and the revitalization of the city center. He works to strengthen democracy in local government by empowering council members and the opposition and creating effective tools for them, alongside transferring powers from the central government and empowering local government.
